Things to do in Mooloolaba

Stroll along the waters edge and up to the Mooloolaba rock wall, or explore Point Cartwright lighthouse.
SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast Aquarium is just a short 3 minute walk away, and is perfect for families or marine wildlife enthusiasts visiting the area. Penguins, seals, sharks, rays, the spectacular ocean tunnel, turtles, tidal touchpool, and more await. You can even dive with sharks, feed or swim with seals or penguins, or enjoy a behind the scenes tour.
If you are looking to melt away your stress and aches, why not wander over to the Salt Caves Mooloolaba. You can book in for salt therapy, a massage, a session in the infrared sauna, or a beauty treatment. They even run meditations in the salt caves, and stock organic beauty products for purchase. Visiting the Salt Caves is a great way to feel relaxed and rejuvenated on your stay.
When your stomach starts to grumble, you’ll be spoiled for choice when you head over to The Wharf. There’s the Savvy Squire brewery and pub for craft beer and modern Australian pub food. Rice Boi is always a popular choice, if Asian street style dining is what you are craving. Ninth Street Mooloolaba boast that they offer the world’s best hotdogs, as well as burgers, waffles, ice cream sandwiches, and sundaes.
The Esplanade itself offers a 600m stretch of cafe’s, restaurants, and boutique stores. Forgot to pack your swimwear? No problem, you can pick up a swimsuit, and throw in a new designer label outfit while you are at it. Stop for a coffee, and then browse the gifts, homeware, beauty, and souvenirs on display. There’s plenty to discover along the way, and friendly locals to meet.
Seafood lovers in particular won’t want to miss dropping by the Mooloolaba Fish Market, wholesale seafood markets. Grab fresh prawns, seafood to prepare in your apartment in Aegean Mooloolaba, or drop by Fish on Parkyn for phenomenal seafood dishes straight from the dock to your table.
Mooloolaba Tours
DownUnder Submarines is Australia’s first ever submarine for tourists, taking you 30 metres down under the surface of the water off the coast of Mooloolaba. Peek out of the viewports and see what the underwater world looks like in real life! The tour lasts around 1.5 hours, and departs from DeBrett Fisheries on Parkyn Parade. Open to all ages over 2 years old, this is an incredible new experience for you to take part in.
Mooloolaba Canal Cruise is the longest running canal cruise in the area. Hop onboard a genuine historic timber ferry, enjoy cruises the waterways past The Wharf and Mooloolah Island where you can check out mansions, then to Manyama Island which is home to celebrities and sporting superstars. You’ll love getting the chance to hand feed the pelicans, observing the wild Osprey eagle nests, and fish feeding back at the marina.
Paradise Sea Planes is another fantastic Mooloolaba experience that you won’t want to miss. Jump onboard a historic Wilga warbird and soar above Mooloolaba Beach, Point Cartwright, and Maroochydore on an adventure flight that you won’t soon forget. Sunreef Hire Mooloolaba is the perfect place to grab equipment to get our on the water and have some serious fun! You can hire bikes, kayaks, stand up paddle boards, boats, and jet skis.
Sunreef also run PADI dive courses, as well as trips out to dive the local reefs and caves such as Mudjimba Island, Wobby Rock, and Hanging Rock. You can also go with them to snorkel with turtles, or swim with the whales from July to October.
Aquaduck Sunshine Coast lets you see Mooloolaba like never before, with a one hour amphibious tour taking you from land to sea and back again. You’ll get to see Mooloolaba Beach and Esplanade, cruise along Mooloola River, and kids can even take a turn driving the Aquaduck to get an Aquaduck Captain’s Certificate.
